Kuilei Cliffs, also known as Diamond Head Beach Park, is a lesser-known beach situated just outside of Waikk on the lower crater rim of Diamond Head. Sailors called this region in the nineteenth century after alleged diamond crystals discovered in the cliffs. Although the crystals were subsequently found to be ordinary calcite rather than expensive jewels, the moniker remained.
