The drive from Honolulu to Sandy Beach takes approximately 30 minutes. Here you can find public toilets and cold showers. Sandy Beach parking  is usually plentiful and  free. However, there are no shops or restaurants nearby, so be sure to bring some snacks and water.

The water at Sandy Beach  is suitable for experienced swimmers and surfers. It is the series of breakwaters that distinguish Sandy Beach  from other beaches on the island of Oahu. Visitors should be aware of the dangers of Sandy Beach Oahu. It is important to know that the water in Sandy Beach is not for the inexperienced. The waves can be extremely intense and  rip currents are sometimes incredibly dangerous for beginners and bodyboarders. Remember to watch out for sea conditions, as well as  local warnings, before heading ashore. Visitors should also note that many people were injured here because they  underestimated the power of the waves near the shore. Only swim when the water is safe!
