Sunset Beach - O’ahu North Shore

It’s worth visiting the North Shore of O’ahu Island when travelling to Hawaii, and Sunset Beach is one of the best beaches in this area. Sunset Beach is located just two miles past Ehukai Beach, which is home to the famous Banzai Pipeline. Whether you’re staying on the North Shore or travelling from Waikiki, we encourage you to get to Sunset early to avoid the huge crowd. Since it is a popular travel destination, parking here can be stressful. As a bonus, the Sunset Beach Park features beach showers, restrooms, and picnic bench tables for visitors.

Sunset Beach Hawaii Surf

Sunset Beach is one of the most famous surfing spots in the world. It is home to several surfing competitions, including the Triple Crown of Surfing. During winter months, the waves can reach up to 30 feet, which makes Sunset Beach a real paradise for professional surfers.

During summertime, the water is fairly calm here, making Sunset Beach ideal for snorkeling and swimming. The weather at Sunset Beach in summer is warm and the waves are flat. Stop here for a family-friendly beach day during summer!

Enjoy the Sunset at Sunset Beach

Although this beach is famous for its winter surf competition, it is the beautiful sunsets that give its name, Sunset Beach. There is nothing better than watching the sunset while listening to the sound of waves here.
