Explore The Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm O’ahu
Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm is located on the east shore of Oahu, Hawaii, under the shadow of the Koolau Mountains. Tropical Farms also offers coffee, chocolate, gift baskets, and other locally sourced goods in addition to macadamia nuts. The rustic indoor-outdoor complex is a welcome respite when you're tired after a long trip around the island, whether you're doing it on your own or as part of a circle-island tour that departs from Waikiki or downtown Honolulu.
There are usually tastings for coffee and various kinds of macadamia nuts, such as cinnamon- or Kona coffee-glazed macadamia nuts, and tours of the farms are offered. The act of cracking the raw almonds is a delight among children.
MacNut Farm from the early days
The couple moved from selling fresh macadamia nuts on the roof of a vehicle to opening an outlet shop where visitors could get free samples of delectable macadamia treats and gifts to take home. It is open from 9:30 am to 5 pm every day of the week nowadays and is a wonderful spot to stop and take a break from the busy highway and explore. Because tour buses stop here often, it may get a bit busy on the inside. Despite this, the store has an airy sense to it, with a lot of energy running through it.
MacNut Farm Tours and Actitivities
Visitors may participate in the Alii Tour, which is a one-hour tour of the Mac Nut Farm that includes stops at the plantation and the fishpond. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the way the Hawaiians lived off the land. An amusing guide by the name of the Chief leads the group on a tour of the farm. He will take you on a tour of the farm and tell you some fascinating tales about macadamias, Hawaiian cuisine, and Hawaiian traditions.
The ability to observe and attempt to open a coconut is also a wonderful learning opportunity. Following that, you will be taken on a little boat trip around the fishpond. The Chief will provide you with more information on the area's history. Tears of the Sun, Along Came Polly, Gilligan's Island, and other films have been shot in the area, as well as television shows. In the end, you will have the opportunity to sample exotic fruits straight from the tree. There is nothing more satisfying than eating a perfectly ripe fruit that has been plucked straight off the tree. The Chief will then transport you back to the shop, where you may purchase some mementoes to take home with you.
